The partnership

Two Canadian names you trust, one continuous experience.

Metro provides the trusted neighbourhood storefront. DOS provides the physician layer. Together, we close the gap between "I should see a doctor" and "I have my care plan in hand."

Metro

Your neighbourhood grocery store. 76+ locations, established trust, expert staff.

DOS Physician

Inside the store. See a doctor in person or by tele-care, billed to public coverage.

You

Walk out with your diagnosis, prescription, and follow-up booked. Same visit.

01

Care, where you already are

Most visits start within a 10-minute walk of where you already shop. Care fits into your day, not the other way around.

02

Connected charts

Your DOS physician sees your active prescriptions; the in-store team sees your visit notes — with consent. No faxes, no phone tag.

03

One-stop refills

Need a renewal? Skip the appointment. The in-store team can extend most maintenance medications under DOS oversight, in minutes.

Walk-in flow

A doctor's visit, between your shopping list and your next stop.

Most Metro × DOS visits take under 30 minutes — start to script. No referral, no phone-tag, no separate clinic visit. Just walk in.

I came in for groceries and noticed the DOS desk by the pharmacy. Booked a 4 PM slot, did a quick consult after my shopping, and left with my prescription in the same bag as my dinner.

Patients on the partnership

“It just fits into the way I already live.”

The Metro × DOS partnership puts a physician where you already are. No separate clinic visit, no new login — just care, on your weekly grocery run.

Common questions

About the Metro × DOS experience.

Is the visit covered by public health insurance?
Yes — virtually all general physician visits at a participating Metro × DOS location are billed directly to your provincial health plan (OHIP in Ontario, RAMQ in Quebec, etc.). A small number of specialty programs are partially patient-pay; we always quote upfront.
